If you are in Hydra for your holiday you must come sailing one day

This is a wonderful introduction to sailing for beginners and a welcome reminder for lapsed sailors. It is also a lot of fun especially for children of all ages.
For many visitors to hydra this is the best day of their holiday.
You do not need to know anything about sailing to come along. Beginners and children are very welcome.
You embark at 10:00 in the morning. A few minutes are spent while you stow your belongings in the yacht, learn a little about the boat and safety procedures before we set off.

As soon as we are out of the harbor we set our sails. The motor is only used for getting in and out of the harbor. During the whole season last year we only had to motor once because there was no wind to sail with. During the trip you are encouraged to handle and trim the sails and everyone has the chance to steer the ship.

Our destination depends on the direction and strength of the wind on the day. The aim is to learn enough to be a competent member of the crew and make sailing fun and interesting. We sail for 2-3 hours to get to a nice bay where we put down our anchor and swim. Masks and snorkels are available for those who want to explore the bottom. After the swim we have a picnic lunch and drinks served on the deck. This is included in the price.
We then relax for maybe an hour or more before we set off again to get to the harbor by about 5 in the afternoon.

It is difficult to imagine what such an experience is like. The best way is probably to look at the pictures taken during the day trips last summer.

Occasionally people come in a group and prefer to have the boat exclusively. Others have a special wish for a departure point or destination. Poros, Spetses and Ermioni are the favorites.
